George originally trained as a chemist working in R&D, product design and development in agrochemicals and oil industry sectors. He progressed through technical project management and customer service roles for major oil company clients to head up Marketing & Business Management of speciality products in the EMEA region turning over $40M. In that role he led the development and launch of new products, brought the focus of the European sales team to more profitable product lines and developed short and long term marketing plans as part of the global strategy. Latterly as European Manager for Health & Safety and Environment Europe, he ensured the company’s regulatory compliance for the region and sat on industry committees to monitor and influence decision making on European regulations. He led a campaign and communication strategy to successfully restore customer confidence in a $10m/pa core product and spearheaded the adoption of the chemical industry’s Responsible Care practice for the company.
George has worked with Open Limits since the launch in 2002, on organisational development programmes, outsourced provider management programmes, customer service-focused culture change, creative thinking and innovation in the technical sectors as well as health, finance, legal, consulting, engineering and publishing domains. A highly creative individual himself, George is a musician and songwriter. He co-founded “All in Good Time” – bringing the experience, discipline and team building of performing music to the corporate world. He has also set up a Micro-Brewery with a team of other investors – Haresfoot, which provides a constant source of active business experience to draw upon when delivering organisational development programmes.
